What is facial mesotherapy?
Facial mesotherapy is a technique used for rejuvenating the face.
Why is it performed?
It is performed to combat the signs of ageing, sagging and to improve skin hydration. It is recommended for people over the age of 30 (depending on the needs of the skin) and there is no upper age limit for having the treatment.
What does it involve?
Different active ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, vitamins, minerals, coenzymes, nucleic acids, etc. are injected into the facial skin using fine needles. When the solution reaches the deepest layers of the dermis, a massage is performed to distribute it evenly around the face.
There are different types of mesotherapy, including:
- Firming: using mainly silicon, a substance involved in the synthesis of collagen and elastin. Silicon is a trace element found in all our cells. This treatment helps prevent the skin from losing its firmness
- Vitamin: using plasma enriched with vitamins, trace elements, minerals and coenzymes to treat skin ageing
- Hyaluronic acid: this is the most common mesotherapy treatment. It uses a less dense hyaluronic acid than that used for filling wrinkles. The hyaluronic acid hydrates the area and stimulates collagen and elastin production, as well as giving the face a brighter appearance.
Each session lasts around 45 minutes and the results can be seen after 48 hours.
How to prepare for it
Before treatment, a small amount of anaesthetic cream is applied to the face to avoid any discomfort.
