Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) is what is known as a type of talking therapy, and it is based on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). It is commonly used to help patients with borderline personality disorder (BPD). DBT helps patients to change certain negative behaviours as well as accepting who they are as a person. Therefore, DBT focuses on both change and acceptance.
